The View from Medway

 

The View from Medway, from Alan W Collins, provides up-to-date News, Law and Opinion from Medway and beyond.

Originally titled Alan Collins’ Political Opinions, it has experienced significant growth since it was first launched in 2006, and has been consistently voted in to the Top 100 Conservative Blogs in the annual Total Politics Blog Awards.

After a brief spell living in Birmingham, the Founding Editor returned to Medway and re-focused the website on his home towns.

Aims of The View from Medway

  1. To provide national and local news from Medway and the surrounding area.
  2. To provide up-to-date news from the legal sector via LegalLeanings.co.uk.
  3. To provide high-quality, inquisitive commentary from relevant authors.
  4. To encourage healthy debate and afford a right of reply on all articles.
  5. To promote a fair, open and transparent democracy.

  7. To promote and support a free and independent media.
  8. To promote and support local media.
  9. To promote equality and justice.

Comment Policy

  1. All comments on The View from Medway are moderated.
    1. The editorial team are alerted after every comment has been posted, and will endeavour to approve the comment as quickly as possible, subject to the terms of this Comment Policy.
    2. No guarantee is given as to the length of time taken by the editorial team to approve a comment.
  2. No offensive comments will be published.
    1. “Offensive comments” include, but are not limited to, sexism, racism, personal insults and defamatory comments.
    2. The definition of “offensive comments” extends to usernames and/or aliases.
  3. Spam comments will not be published.
    1. “Spam comments” include, but are not limited to, heavy use of (irrelevant) hyperlinks.
    2. Comments containing one or more hyperlinks to adult or offensive material will be considered “spam comments”.
    3. The View from Medway uses intelligent spam-filtering software to identify and remove spam comments. The editorial team endeavour to check the content which has been removed by this software.
    4. No guarantee is given that every comment removed will be checked by the editorial team before it is permanently deleted.
  4. IP addresses for comments are securely logged and repeat offenders may be banned.
  5. The decision of the editorial team is final.
